Successful playoff births in the NSSL Winter season

In the Fall of 2009 the Suburban Region began a process that would see its Tier 1 NSSL teams move from the club level to a new regional structure known as the Suburban Football Club. As part of this transition both Bedford and Scotia, the two clubs that fielded the majority of NSSL teams in the Suburban region, agreed to work together to start building the foundation for the new regional club. Teams were combined and players were introduced as a start to the team bonding and player development process. The result of this effort is now visible in the NSSL Winter League standings. Of the 6 teams that were fielded as a combined effort in the region, 4 have achieved playoff births in the NSSL 2009/10 playoff season. Of the 24 youth playoff opportunities available in the winter season, Suburban region teams captured the most playoff births with 5 teams. The future Suburban teams shared this honour with their rivals at Dunbrack who also have 5 opportunities.

Congratulations to all the teams, coaches and volunteers who help to make the winter season a huge success for the Suburban region. Good luck in the playoffs!!!
