Suburban Regional Event a huge success!
The Suburban Region hosted its first training event at Sackville High School today. Hundreds of soccer players from Bedford, Scotia, Sackville and East Hants gathered to for a full day of soccer training. Participants were run through their paces by Danny Worthington (NTC Director), Mesut Mert (Scotia TD), Mike Ayyash (Bedford Program Manager), Mike Locke (SUSA TD) and Matt Blair (Suburban Region TD). “This is an opportunity for our players to get together and train with some of the best technical trainers in the province,” says Blair. “It’s not only an opportunity for us to look at players, it’s also a chance for the players to train with their future team mates.”
The event also served as an unveiling for Suburban FC, the new Suburban regional club. Phil Swinney, President of the new organization presented the new club kit to a crowd of over 100 interested players and parents. Swinney also discussed the regional goals and objectives outlining the benefits of regional co-operation.
