Senior Men’s Team

Friday, April 27th, 2012

SFC would like to announce the appointment of Geraldo Ferrari as the new coach of the Senior Men Premier Division Team. Geraldo will be conducting open tryouts at SMU on May 8, 8:00 – 9:30 pm.   Players must be registered prior to trying out.   A representative from the Club will be on hand to accept registrations, fees and jersey deposits.

Players that did not play in Nova Scotia last summer must complete a registration form along with a signed insurance waiver prior to stepping on the field.

Download the Summer 2012 Senior Registration Form

We have set up a convenient payment plan for Senior players. The total fee is $275 (well below the youth fee of $675), which can be split up into up to three segments for payments.  $125 is required when you register.  The remaining amount is required prior to your first game.  You cannot play if you are not paid up in full.

We prefer the amounts to be in cheques, including post dated cheques for the remaining two payments.

If you do not have cheques, we will take a money order or cash. Cheques or money orders must be made out to “Suburban FC.”  If you don’t make the team, we destroy cheques or give you a refund (if you paid by cash).  Money orders will be either returned to you or replaced with a cheque from SFC. It is important that we have a full and correct mailing address on your registration form for this purpose, which includes your postal code.

SFC requires you to submit a posted dated cheque for $50 (dated September 15) for jersey deposit.  This cheque is destroyed, when the jersey is returned at the end of the season

Welcome 2012 Summer Players!

Saturday, April 14th, 2012

Dear Suburban FC Parents and Players,

Welcome to the summer 2012 season for Suburban FC!

We are very excited for our upcoming season and plan to soon have in place a new Director of Player and Coach Development who will design and run programming for  the Suburban Football Club. This person will also work closely with the club Technical Directors throughout our District. Until this happens however, Suburban FC will continue to draw upon the excellent technical resources within our own coaching ranks and within the District Clubs.

Thank you for your patience in the weeks since tryouts. Field time has been limited because of work being done to put a new turf in at Weir and and numerous tryouts going on at other clubs. These tryouts have also limited the ability of District Club Technical Directors to cover Suburban practices.

These temporary field time disruptions will continue for this week but we look forward to next week settling into our spring training schedule until the end of May at the East Hants Sportsplex.

Looking forward, as the upgrades to Weir Field are finished we will be moving our training to Weir Field and beginning our summer technical training program with Club appointed training staff.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding Suburban FC and our programming,

Thank you for your time,

Jared Griffiths

Exciting Changes in NSSL Under 14 Program

Friday, March 23rd, 2012

There are some exciting changes to the Under 14 Tier 1 division starting this summer. New for 2012, the Under 14 Tier 1 league will have teams placed in the Tier 1A and Tier 1B divisions.  The huge difference this year is that most of the players from the A and B divisions can be moved back and forth between the teams for league games.  SFC will be able to train the two teams together or focus on individual areas of concern, allow player freedom between teams to create more playing time, continuously evaluate the individual players (skill, commitment, desire) and injured “A” players who miss time and training, can play on the B team while getting back into game shape. The changes allow SFC more flexibility in player development while creating a stronger developmental system for the players.  Nova Scotia Soccer League (NSSL) made this decision using input from Soccer Nova Scotia’s Long Term Player Development Committee.    If you have any questions, please contact Suburban’s Assistant Technical Director, Jared Griffiths  atd@suburbanfc.ca
