Talal Al-Awaid Appointed as Technical Director

Suburban FC is proud to announce Talal Alawaid as the club’s new Technical Director. A Suburban alumnus, Talal steps into this role bringing a strong blend of experience in coaching, player development, operations, and the global football landscape. 

A graduate of Dalhousie University, Talal represented the Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer program from 2005 to 2010 while completing a Bachelor of Engineering. During his time with the Tigers, he helped capture the AUS Championship in 2009. Since then, Talal has worked across all age divisions and levels, playing a key role in the development of players who have gone on to professional careers across North America and Europe, including Youth and Senior National team members.

 Since rejoining Suburban, Talal has been a key coach with the club, most recently leading the U17 Academy Boys team to qualification for the 2025 National Championships in Kamloops, BC (Oct 8-13). Alongside this, he has contributed to the Dalhousie Tigers men’s varsity program (USPORTS) as an Assistant Coach. Talal is a Canada Soccer National B & Youth Licence holder.

His knowledge of the soccer landscape both local & across the country, combined with his experience, network, and drive, make him a perfect fit for this role with us at Suburban.
