Emily Fleming, former player with SFC, has been invited to join the elite soccer program at Shattuck St. Mary’s this fall! Emily attended an evaluation camp this past November and recently learned that she had earned a rarely offered financial package that amounts to 100% of the eligible coverage. Suburban District Soccer Association encourages all coaches interested in coaching at all levels to become properly certified. Suburban District is hosting the following coaching courses. All coaches from Bedford, East Hants, Sackville & Scotia are invited to attend free of charge.

Active Start (Under 4, 5 &6): This course will be offered through the member clubs. Please contact your club Director of Coach and Player Development if you wish to register for this course.

Fundamentals (U6 & U8)- this course will now run on Saturday, May 25th from 9-5pm at Soccer Nova Scotia Training Centre field #1. Please contact your club Director of Coach and Player Development if you wish to register for this course.

Learning to Train (U10 & U12) - this course has now been cancelled in our area and unfortunately we will need you to apply for the course in the Halifax area.  All course dates are up on the Soccer Nova Scotia Website www.soccerns.ca, look under Coaches and then Community Coaching Courses

Active for Life (U14 & Over) – this course will definitely run on Saturday June 1st and Sunday June 2nd from 9-5pm, however there is a change of venue.  Now being held at Sackville Heights Junior High.  To register please email soccerinfo@suburbanfc.ca your name and phone number.

Please come prepared to participate. The course includes gym activities along with classroom time.

Suburban is accepting coaching application for summer 2013.  To apply please complete the Coaching Application and email contact on the form.  All coaches will be required to provide a police background check.

Soccer Nova Scotia will be hosting the 2013 National Men’s and Women’s Championships in October 2013, at the Mainland Commons. Sylvain Allaire (SNS board member for Harbour East District) has been appointed as the chair of the Championships.

On behalf of Sylvain I am extending an invitation to people interested in assisting with the championships either as volunteers at the event or as member of the organizing committee.

I would appreciate for  clubs to circulate this opportunity to their membership. Interested people can simply e-mail me at ceo@soccerns.ns.ca expressing their interest.

Suburban FC is pleased to offer a College Soccer information night for our region’s players and parents. This will take place on Thursday Nov. 29th at Soccer NS in their classroom, the session will begin at 7pm. This information session will give parents and players information on playing soccer at the University level. During the session there will be discussion both on University Soccer in Canada and also playing in the United States. This session will be lead by Jared Griffiths and Kaitlyn MacIssac. Players in their second year of U-16 and all U-18 players are encouraged to attend. If you are interested in attending you must confirm with Jared Griffiths by email at atd@suburbanfc.ca.
