Technical Staff Addition - Syd Kennedy
Suburban FC is excited to welcome Sydney Kennedy to our Technical Staff. A popular & standout Suburban alum and current vice-captain of the Halifax Tides, Sydney joins us as our Grassroots Programs Operations Lead.
A former Canada U15 international and University of Florida (NCAA Division 1) captain, Sydney will oversee the administration and operations of our U3-U8 grassroots programs, while continuing her coaching roles across our U12-U17 Academy Girls program.
Syd is a standout and well-known leader within our club and community, and we’re thrilled to have her continue supporting Suburban FC alongside her professional commitments on the pitch with the Tides.
Here’s what Syd had to say about her new role with SFC:
“I’m excited to step into this role and help strengthen Suburban’s grassroots programs. Suburban has such a strong community and player pathway, and this position is a great opportunity for me to continue developing my skills on and off the field, in operations and player development, while contributing to the club’s continued success”
SFC’s Executive Director, Ollie Hewish, added:
“Syd is a phenomenal leader and role model for our players. Her experiences across the professional game, NCAA, and international level show our players what’s possible, while she continues to open even more doors for them. The fact that she still coaches and takes on leadership roles both on and off the pitch speaks to her commitment to the next generation. Syd is the perfect person to help us drive the club forward and raise our standards — a top addition to our Technical Staff.”
