What is Futsal?

Futsal is a soccer game played on a hard court surface, smaller than a soccer pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side soccer. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Futsal is played with unlimited substitutions. Futsal is a great development tool as players get more touches on the ball, have to utilize smaller spaces, and creates an emphasis on technical ability for all players to play the game!

Program Details

U9/10C and U11/12C Futsal Program Details:

• U9-U12C Registration Opens: August 20th, 2025

• U9-U12C Registration Deadline: October 26th, 2025

• U9-U12C Start Date: Week of November 3rd, 2025

• Schedule: Friday evenings, time TBD, in school gyms in the Suburban FC Region

1x Weekly In-House Games

• This option is ideal for players who may be new to the sport and are looking to show up and play with friends once weekly without having to play in the Nova Scotia Soccer League. 

• This program is purely game-play. Players wanting specific technical development & training should register for the next step up. (Skill Centre for U9/U10/U11 or 'B’ programs for U12)

• Our Futsal program consists of smaller teams and lots of playing time (lots of touches!)

• Jerseys will be provided to this group, and we only ask that parents provide shorts, socks & shin guards for their player(s).

U12B, U13B, U15B and U18B Program Details:

• U12-U18B Registration Opens: August 20th, 2025

• U12-U18B Registration Deadline: October 12th, 2025

• U12-U18B Start Date: Week of November 3rd, 2025

1x Weekly In-House Futsal Session + League Games

• This is geared toward players who only want to play for fun but would also like to play in the Nova Scotia Soccer League. These players will have 1x in-house futsal sessions weekly and have league games in the Nova Scotia Soccer League ‘B’ Division. 

• Each player will require the training uniform and home game jersey from the website store. A number will be assigned to you if you do not already have one. Once registered, please email reception@suburbanfc.ca to be assigned a number. Please do not order until you receive a number from one of our staff members.

How Much Does This Cost?

U9/10C & U11/12C cost: (Born in 2017 / 2016/ 2015 / 2014) - $345

U12B, U13B, U15B and U18B cost: (Born in 2014 / 2013 / 2012 / 2011 / 2010 / 2009 / 2008) - $465

What Do The Fees Include?

• Facility costs

• Coaches - Lead and Assistant Coaches

• Registration with governing bodies (Soccer Nova Scotia & Canada Soccer)

• Training Equipment

• Administrative (operations, registration system, processing fees, etc.)

• League Fees (games, facilities, administration, etc.)

• Additional club operational costs

Coaching

This program is led by our Recreational Programs Manager and assisted by technical trainers and volunteer coaches. All coaches are a part of Suburban FC's Coach Development Program.

Uniforms

Uniforms will be provided to the U10C / U12C group, and we only ask that parents provide shin guards & appropriate footwear for their player(s).

U13B / U15B / U18B will need to purchase their uniform online. Training kit and Home kit is required. A number will be assigned to you if you do not already have one. Once registered, please email reception@suburbanfc.ca to be assigned a number. Please do not order until you receive a number from one of our staff members.

Schedules are subject to change based on facility availability. If location or time changes, communication will be sent out via TeamSnap.

Parent and Player Requirements

Players and parents must abide by the Policies and Procedures of the club.

What happens if there is bad weather and field/gym closures? 

** Unfortunately due to time constraints, there will be no make-up sessions or pro-rated refunds due to poor weather or field/gym closures. Field/gym closures and extreme weather conditions are beyond our control. We will always strive to ensure that programming is offered when we have access to fields/gyms and it does not jeopardize the safety of our players. Any cancellations will be clearly communicated via TeamSnap.  **
